People & Planet is the largest student network in Britain campaigning to take action on world poverty, human rights & the environment. People & Planet Sheffield is a branch of the national network and is based at The University of Sheffield Union of Students. What do we do?
We meet every Wednesday evening in term time (see what's on?). We have several campaigns running throughout the year and raise awareness by running stalls in the Students' Union, lobbying decision makers and taking part in demonstrations (see campaigns). We make sure that what we do is fun and we have plenty of socials! Any level of involvement is always welcome and you certainly don't have to be an expert!

How do I take part?
Come along to one of our (very informal!) meetings or just turn up to any of our events (see what's on?). We have new members coming all the time. You can take part in as much or as little as you like and there is always something different going on. If you can't make it to our meetings or events but want to have some input, you can visit our message forum or contact us, or sign up to the weekly mailing lists using the links on the left. We also have a group set up on Facebook called 'People & Planet Sheffield' if you want to see us on there!
